More Than the Music

Electronic music doesn't stand still. New artists emerge, established sounds evolve, underground movements find new audiences and local scenes influence dance floors around the world.

EDM Weekly exists to explore that evolution.

We bring together music discovery, artist stories, DJ sets, event coverage and perspectives from across the electronic music industry. Our aim is to help listeners find their next favourite track, discover artists beyond their usual rotation and understand the people and ideas moving the culture forward.

We're interested in the familiar and the unexpected, the established and the emerging, the sounds filling festival stages and the movements developing beyond the spotlight.

Rather than narrowing electronic music to a single genre or trend, we embrace its full spectrum.

From a Weekly Show to a Global Vision

EDM Weekly began with a simple idea: share the electronic music Garrett Gaudet couldn't find on local radio.

Garrett Gaudet · Founder, EDM Weekly

Growing up in a rural Canadian town, Garrett discovered dance music through the energy of hockey arenas, where tracks like Darude's ‘Sandstorm’ and Zombie Nation's ‘Kernkraft 400’ could transform an entire crowd. That energy led to mixtapes, countless hours discovering new music and a growing fascination with the DJs and producers shaping the scene.

In February 2013, he launched the original EDM Weekly Radio Show, then titled EDM Weekly with Garrett Gaudet. The show combined curated tracks, music commentary and DJ mixing. With no formal broadcasting experience, he learned by doing—developing his presenting and mixing skills while studying the sets, techniques and sounds of electronic music's leading artists.

The show quickly grew beyond a weekly mix. EDM Weekly Radio Show gained an international audience through Apple Podcasts and other distribution channels, earned New & Noteworthy recognition, climbed the charts and reached #1 in Apple's Music Commentary category. Its history includes more than 380 episodes, over half a million downloads and collaborations with artists, labels and event organizers.

Garrett also expanded the project into radio, television and event coverage, building relationships across the industry and bringing stories from the electronic music scene to its audience.
